Special Grandma

Patrick's Grandma Belle passed away a couple of weeks ago.  It's hard having her gone, but I know it was best for her.  We were asked to put together a photo memorial for the funeral, so we spent a lot of time going through her old photo albums.

She was a beautiful lady.  She is smiling in pretty much every picture, and always looks like she's having a good time. In fact, we noticed quite a few similarities to our own photos - boating, camping, and partying seem to be the main themes.  She is wearing a bikini a lot!

I'm sad that I didn't think to go through them while she was there to give me the stories behind them all, but I still feel closer to her for having seen them.  There are lots of great images, but my favorite of them all is this one:

I can tell how much they loved each other, and it makes me want to make sure that we will have the same thing in our lives.  I'm sad that Grandpa Bud passed away so young and that I never got to meet him.

It makes it easier knowing how much she loved us, and wanted us to be happy.  She tended to spoil us in every way she could.  Pat complained all the time that she liked me better than him!  I'm very glad that we got a few extra weeks after her seizure, as hard as they were for her and us.
